One of the many more popular features of lower Westheimer is the Antique section. This area begins as the Montrose segways into River Oaks at Dunlavy and ends just past Kirby.
There are plenty of shops stacked with armoirs, dressers and tables to choose from. If you like the retro contemporary look there are plenty of beatnik style couches, lamps and chairs to furnish that 60's bar you're working on at the house. Some of the prices are a little steep but I haven't met a vendor yet who wouldn't budge just a little to make a sale. Also the crowds are a little heavy on the weekends so come early to avoid the rush. Fortunately there are a number of excellent cafes nearby to grab a bite and a cold drink. Empire Cafe is a good choice.
